We recently had a last-minute request for several utility warrant’s to take place in the Shetland Islands where a dog handler was required to be onsite.
We set to work straight away to find a dog handler who was available to travel. All our Scottish dog handlers were unavailable, so a plan was put in place to fly our dog handler up to Scotland from Somerset. The flights were all booked, the overnight hotel was found and the route was planned.
The day itself came and unfortunately the weather was not on our side. Our dog handler managed to get to Glasgow airport, but the flights to the Shetland Islands were all cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. After a long stay at the airport for a flight back home, our dog handler was not put off and is up for the mission next time.
